Rancho Feliz’s “Guardian Warrior” Mexico Mutts Program
Hundreds of dogs, many of them homeless, roam the streets of Agua Prieta. These street animals are exposed to the elements, hunger and thirst, abuse, and injury or death from motorists. Those that are ill can transmit contagious diseases to the human population. Each year countless dogs are captured by the city’s animal-control personnel and put to a painful death by execution. There are no animal shelters or animal educational programs in Agua Prieta and the overpopulation of dogs is staggering.
The Mexico Mutts Program was established to reduce the suffering of these homeless, neglected, and abused dogs through spay/neuter, rescue and adoption and public education. Currently the Program’s primary focus is education and funding visits for mobile sterilization units to travel to Agua Prieta where clinics are conducted and services provided at affordable costs.
The “Guardian Warrior” Mexico Mutts Program is administered by Scottsdale resident, Kim Kroger and Agua Prieta resident, Alejandro Laureano.
