As Americans, it’s easy to take our comfortable lives for granted. However, in Agua Prieta our volunteers discover a world very different from their own. That’s why we built the “Exchange Dormitory”.

Each year, more than 1,000 volunteers stay in the on-site dorm and perform service work in the barrios. Here they feed their souls with purpose and gain a new appreciation for their own fortunate lives. They carry this awareness back across the border to help reweave the moral fabric of our own communities. It’s a profound experience and many return year after year. Since 1987 we have facilitated over 15,000 volunteer visits.

We call this the “Exchange Program”, because countless times we have seen givers become receivers and receivers become givers. We have found that being “in service” has a positive, powerful impact, both on the volunteers and the people they assist. Come join us in Mexico and see for yourself!
